A crown is a restoration that covers a tooth to strengthen it and restore its normal shape and size. A crown may be placed to support a large filling when there is little remaining tooth structure, to attach a bridge, to protect against fracturing, or to restore an already fractured tooth. A tooth that has been treated with root canal therapy will require a crown following treatment to add strength and support to the tooth.
We only use materials for crowns that will provide the longest-lasting benefits to our patients, such as porcelain and composite resin. If you would like to learn more about the benefits of dental crowns and family dentistry, please schedule your consultation at Dental Illuminations soon.
